CHICAGOLAND ACTOR & TEACHER
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I grew up listening to Broadway cast recordings and attending performance events of all kinds. I hold a BA in Theater Performance from DeSales University, a Certificate of Classical Acting from the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England, and an MFA in Acting from Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in Shakespeare performance and musical theater. While working as an actor and a coach, I enjoy taking approaches to Shakespeare and applying them to musical theatre song analysis (the heightened language and emotions found in Shakespeare and musical theater are more similar than we often think). As an actor-creator, I approach my work knowing that I, myself am enough. I desire to step into a performance as a teacher, as a hero; being part of a collective that brings the unconscious to the conscious. A person can still can walk out, rise above, and make a change by ways of compassion, transparency, and losing fear of our full emotional capacity.
Aside from pursuing a career as an actor-creator, I coach private acting students and teach a course called Executive Presence (public speaking) to business professionals. I also am the Events & Fundraising Coordinator on the development team for the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. I also have previous experience as a development intern for the New York City award-winning Off-Broadway company, Keen Company; and have served various administrative roles for The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and Jenny Wiley Theater.
Continuing down the path as an actor-creator, I also am looking forward to moving into artistic and executive leadership positions as my career matures.
Thanks for stopping by!
